How to use it
You don't need a therapist or a tutorial. Your body will guide you once you're in position.
Sound familiar?
"It's not a weakness problem. It's a tension problem, and stretching alone doesn't fix it."
Whether it's a dull ache in your low back, stiffness in your hips after sitting, or tension creeping up into your neck, the root cause is almost always the same: muscle tissue that has been loaded, overworked, or held in one position too long, and never properly released.
Stretching gets to the surface. Massage guns vibrate but don't hold pressure. Foam rollers don't have the precision to target what's actually tight. What muscles actually respond to is sustained, concentrated pressure held in one spot long enough for the tissue to let go.
That's exactly what The Wave is designed to do. Your bodyweight becomes the tool.
Where it helps
Low back pain
The Wave releases the deep muscles alongside your lumbar spine, the ones that clench when you sit too long, lift something awkward, or carry tension from tight hips. Most low back pain isn't a back problem. It's a hip flexor and glute problem that travels upward.
Hip tightness
The psoas and iliacus, your deep hip flexors, shorten every time you sit. They're the most chronically tight muscles in the body and almost impossible to properly stretch. The Wave reaches them with sustained pressure in a way no other tool can.
Neck and upper back tension
Tension headaches, stiff shoulders, and upper back tightness often trace back to the muscles running alongside your thoracic spine. The Wave's curved tips follow the natural contour of your back, applying bilateral pressure that decompresses and releases with each breath.
Know your anatomy
Where they live
The psoas runs from your lower spine through your pelvis to your femur. The iliacus lines the inside of your hip bone. Together they are the deepest hip flexors, buried beneath layers of tissue that foam rollers, lacrosse balls and massage guns simply don't reach.
Why they get so tight
Sitting shortens the psoas. Every hour at a desk, in a car, or on a couch keeps it in a contracted state. Over time that becomes a resting position, pulling your pelvis forward, compressing your lumbar spine, and contributing to the back and hip pain that becomes your daily normal.
How The Wave releases them
Sustained pressure on a tight muscle triggers a neurological response called myofascial release. The muscle gradually lets go. This requires 60 to 120 seconds of concentrated, still pressure. The Wave uses your own bodyweight to deliver exactly that, hands free, at home, any time.
How it compares
Foam rollers, massage guns, heating pads. They can help at the surface. None of them reach the deep tissue the way sustained targeted pressure does.

What people are saying
★★★★★
"I have horrible, aching, nagging hip and sciatic pain. Figured I would try this but did not give it much weight. I did the psoas and iliacus positions and instantly had relief. I could actually walk up the stairs with 90% less pain and tightness after just one stretch session. I cannot wait to try all the other positions."
★★★★★
"The most effective stress and pain relief for my lower back that I have experienced. After years of sports and weightlifting I have always struggled with lower back pain. There’s nothing else quite like it that relieves my pain like the thrival wave."
★★★★★
"The Thrival Wave is impressive. I have always had a hard time getting into the psoas area of the hip and after using it for two days, the stiffness was alleviated by at least 50%, and that was after two days. I look forward to using this regularly."

Common questions
Deep tissue release involves discomfort, similar to a firm sports massage. There's a clear difference between productive pressure and sharp pain. You control how much bodyweight you apply, so start lightly and ease in. Most people describe it as a "good hurt" that quickly becomes relief.
Many people feel a noticeable difference after their very first session. Chronic tightness built up over months or years takes consistent use to fully resolve, but the release you feel during a session is immediate. Most people report significant improvement in daily pain levels within one to two weeks of regular use.
Daily use gives the best results for chronic pain. Even 10 minutes before bed or after waking up makes a significant difference over time. For acute tightness, once or twice a day is ideal. The more consistently you use it, the longer the relief lasts between sessions.
The package includes the Thrival release board and the Wave attachment ×2. The board folds flat for compact storage. Additional attachments including the Arch, Bullseye and Ballhead are available on thrival.com to expand what you can target.
If you have a diagnosed spinal condition, herniated disc, or are recovering from injury or surgery, consult your doctor or physiotherapist before use. For general muscle tightness, soreness and everyday tension, The Wave is safe for most adults. Start very gently and listen to your body.
